Some say it will be the wedding of the year. Others are just looking forward
to a bit of a piss up. Either way, everyone's happy for them.
They've been together now for what can be officially described as a long
time. After meeting in Bristol on New Year's Eve 1998, they spent a couple of years on a
"long range tip" at opposite ends of the British Isles before finally moving in together a few years
ago. It's taken a while for Gurney to get up the guts, but he finally popped THE BIG Q
and (once she'd stopped laughing) LJ acquiesced.
The wedding ceremony will be held at the magnificent St. Andrew's Cathedral in Glasgow, with the
reception at 'House For An Art Lover'; conveniently also in Glasgow, and based on designs inspired by
Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I'm sure we all agree that this a beautiful location and venue, but with all of us
friends, family and guests spread liberally about the UK and beyond, it's going to take a good deal of planning
and sorting out to get everyone not only in town, but in the same bar at the same time! And that's where this
website comes in...
The purpose of this website is to act as a central point for us all to discuss plans for each 'leg' of the wedding
and provide a place to post all the embarrassing photos afterwards. You'll find conversations on the stag weekend and hen
do, along with everyone's plans for the Glasgow Wedding Weekend itself. Who's staying up North for the
whole weekend? Where are you staying? How are you getting there? And who is this Mackintosh guy everyone's on about?
It will also give Lynne and Steven a nice memory of the big day. So please do participate and add comments and
suggestions (or if you've nothing to add, sign the guestbook) - otherwise this will be yet another boring, meaningless
website rattling around in the bowels of cyberspace - and we wouldn't want that, would we?
